WALKER TO REPLACE BRANDT FOR BOOMERS FIBA WORLD CUP QUALIFIER IN ADELAIDE
From a broader squad of 24 submitted to FIBA before the qualifiers, the Boomers have brought Walker into the team for their first game on home soil since the Farewell Series prior to the 2016 Rio Olympics.
A team mate of Brandt’s at the Perth Wildcats, Walker is averaging 10.7 points, five rebounds and two assists per game in the 2017/18 season.
He will make the trip over from Perth in time to join his national team mates for their final training session on Monday.
The Boomers head into the second game of the first window of their FIBA World Cup qualifiers full of confidence after taking care of Chinese Taipei in the opening game on Friday night, 104-66.
Japan will be keen for redemption after a loss at home to the Philippines two days ago but will have to overcome a 16-point loss to Australia in their most recent meeting at the 2017 FIBA Asia Cup.
Purchase your tickets for the game in Adelaide on Monday night from 7pm.
