Vale Chris Pearce

Chris, 49, passed whilst playing the game he loved at Moe in the local veteran’s competition.

He has an outstanding junior career with Morwell before representing Victoria and Victoria Country from 1986-1988, culminating in an under-20 gold medal. From there he went on to represent Kilsyth, Nunawading and Knox in the Victorian State League and SEABL competitions, with a pair of SEABL championships in 1994 and 1996 for Knox.

He had a career high 42 points on 13 August 1995 in Hobart and over his SEABL career averaged 14ppg, 5.1rpg and 1.4apg.

A wonderful laid-back, polite gentleman – he was the perfect team mate.

Basketball Victoria would like extend its condolences to Chris’ family – his wife Jacki and children Cassie and Josh – as well as his friends in this time of grief.

Vale.
