U-14 CLUB CHAMPS TO DEBUT NEW BALLARAT STADIUM

The Under-14 Club Championship will be held in Ballarat from September 30 to October 5, with the new $24 million facility to be the main venue of the week-long tournament.

The redevelopment project was built onto the already existing Wendouree Sports and Events Centre, adding six new courts to the already existing two.

The jewel in the crown is a 3000-seat show court. Altogether, the Ballarat Sports Events Centre will be one of the biggest indoor sports and entertainment facilities in the region.

The scope of the facility is yet to be fully realised, with stage two of construction to add four outdoor 3×3 style courts.

The upcoming Club Championship will be the first major tournament to take place at the new building. The Mars Minerdome will also host games.

24 teams of each gender from around the country will descend on Ballarat, all vying for the crown of National Club Champion. The tournament will begin with a pool stage, culminating in an elimination stage leaving one team standing.

The Under-14 Club Championships has a brand new state-of-the-art home in Ballarat, with the official opening of the Ballarat Sports Events Centre on August 4.
