This Girl Can Come and Try Basketball – 27 March
As part of the week, Basketball Victoria is hosting a FREE, women’s only Come and Try session in Melbourne’s south east on Friday 27 March at Casey Stadium (65 Berwick-Cranbourne Road, Cranbourne East) from 1.00-2.30pm.
The session will give you a taste of all different aspects of basketball and inspire you to lace up the sneakers for the first time or return back to it.
This is an event for women of all skills levels and abilities – you don’t need any experience, just bring plenty of energy to give it a go! The first 20 women to register will receive a free showbag, so make sure you register quickly!
There will be activities for women and girls of all ages and abilities including:
- Walking Basketball, our pioneer all-ages program allowing people with limited mobility to get involved in basketball with their friends
- A special skills and drills session with WNBL superstars
- Wheelchair basketball
Bring your kids along too, as we’ll have activities for the kids all day so you can focus on getting on court and giving it a go! Refreshments will also be provided.
Basketball Victoria is hosting the Come and Try Basketball session as part of This Girl Can – Victoria, a VicHealth initiative to celebrate and support Victorian women (yep, you!) embracing physical activity in a way that suits them best. Whether it’s a little or a lot, what matters is giving it a go and getting some movement into your day.
Basketball Victoria would also like to thank two of our partner WNBL teams – Melbourne Boomers and Southside Flyers – for their support of This Girl Can Week.
THIS Girl Can Week 2020 runs from Monday 23 – Sunday 29 March.
