KEVIN DIXON JOINS BASKETBALL AUSTRALIA AS CFO

Kevin arrives at Basketball Australia after a decade working in the AFL industry with the Essendon Football Club as well as fulfilling several roles in corporate finance.

He began at Essendon as the Chief Financial Officer and was more recently their Chief Operating Officer where he played a key role in formulating and driving the strategic direction for the club.

Kevin was also responsible for the performance of the club’s commercial businesses and a number of special projects including the relocation to their elite training and administration base at Melbourne Airport.

Prior to that, Kevin worked for a number of organisations in the events, FMCG and travel industries after ten years’ experience with Ernst & Young Chartered Accountants in both Melbourne and London and he is thrilled to join the business.

“I am happy to be joining Basketball Australia during such an exciting time for not just the business but the sport overall and I hope to be able to make a difference,” he said.

“Kevin was at the top of a great list of candidates which saw over 50 applicants apply for the role,” said Ned Coten, Basketball Australia Chair.

“I have no doubt due to his previous work experience in the sporting industry that Kevin will be a prodigious addition to our organization.

I look forward to Kevin helping us move into an exciting phase in the coming years as a key piece of the executive team.”
