CREEK AND WEAVER PREPARE FOR NBA G-LEAGUE PLAYOFFS
The Long Island Nets have finished with the equal best record in the G-League, setting them up for a real run at the Championship and Aussies Mitch Creek and head coach Will Weaver are at the forefront of the title push.
Weaver was recently announced as the new head coach of the Sydney Kings so will be looking to cap off his stint in the G-League with the Nets’ first ever Championship.
Creek and Weaver will be the sole Australian representatives in the G-League playoffs with Isaac Humphries (Erie Bay Hawks) and Deng Adel (Canton Charge) both not qualifying for the post-season.
Both players still had strong campaigns, with Adel signing a two-way contract with Cleveland after averaging 12.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game while the 7-foot Humphries contributed 11.3 points and seven boards per game for Canton.
Jonah Bolden (Delaware Blue Coats) also played eight games in the G-League this season but looks to now be firmly entrenched in the Philadelphia 76ers rotation as he and Ben Simmons prepare for a title push in the NBA.
Long Island finished the regular season with a 34-16 record and qualified as the #1 seed in the East to give them a bye in the first round and advance directly to the Conference Semi-Finals.

Creek has been a key player for the Nets, averaging 15.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and one steal per game in his first G-League season.
The South East Melbourne Phoenix marquee signing for 2020 was rewarded for his efforts with a pair of 10-day contracts with the Brooklyn Nets, seeing him fulfill his dream of playing in the NBA.
THIS is a reality. ICYMI Mitch Creek has signed a 10-Day Contract with the @BrooklynNets.
What better way to celebrate Australia Day than with another Aussie in the NBA
Creek is expected make his debut against the NY Knicks at 11:30am AEDT today: https://t.co/PfGV637vtH pic.twitter.com/IjZmWfxyFr

That NBA dream remains for Creek but for now, his focus is on Long Island who will be able to rest during the first round of playoffs.
Each round consists of single elimination games though until the best-of-three Finals so Creek and Weaver will need to be ready and at their best when they host either the Raptors 905 or the Grand Rapids Drive in the Semi-Finals.
That game will be streamed live on the NBA G-League Facebook page on Saturday 30th March at 10am AEDT.
