The Victorian Government, on advice from the Department of Health, has lifted Victoria’s state-wide lockdown as of Tuesday 27 July at 11.59pm.

After Basketball Victoria’s continued lobbying and advocacy to government, BV are pleased to see that the summary document released today by the Victorian Government only restricts venues capacity of community sport by a density quotient of 1 person per 4m2. While BV are confident and have discussed these changes with SRV, these restrictions are subject to the release of the Restricted Activities Directives (RAD) which are expected to be published at midnight Tuesday 27 July.

Due to timing of confirmed Restricted Activities Directives and density limits, games on Wednesday 28th July for both MSD Spartans and Melbourne Basketball will be cancelled.

We will be working hard with MSAC and BV to see how we can get games going as quickly and safely as possible for the hundreds of people who play each night.

The MSAC Basketball Hall became an exposure site,  if any MSD Spartan Participants attended the venue on Thursday 15/7/21,  we encourage you to follow the health advice.

We hope everyone stays safe and healthy during this period and will be happy to get back on court as soon as possible.
