With the group stage nearing its conclusion for the Under-18’s, things are getting tense for a couple of teams as they aim to make the Quarter-Finals which begin on Thursday.

In Pool A for the men, Vic Metro remain unbeaten after they cruised past SA Country yesterday.

SA Country and WA Country have little room for error now as they look to get on the winners list and the stage is set today as they face off against each other at 1pm.

NSW Metro also have the opportunity to stay in touch with top spot with a meeting against Vic Metro- a clash that will give them an idea of where they are before the Quarter-Finals on Thursday.

Top spot is wide open in Pool B for the men with SA Metro, QLD South and Vic Country all sitting at 4-1.

SA Metro have an important match-up against fourth-placed NSW Country (3-1) today while QLD South and Vic Country will be confident heading into Day 5 with meetings against WA Metro (2-3) and NT (0-5).

Vic Metro have pulled clear in Pool A for the women and it looks like only hosts, QLD North, can overtake them as they sit a win behind with two to come.

SA Country need to make up a place on NSW Metro or WA Metro as they sit a win behind them in fifth place but they have a tough task today against QLD North.

In Pool B, the top four could be locked in with SA Metro and Vic Country tied at 4-0 and QLD South and NSW Country tied at 2-2.

Everything is set up for a thrilling Day 5 though with those teams with equal records facing off against each other at 10.30am and 3pm respectively.

With Media Day complete for the Kevin Coombs Cup, competition tips off tomorrow as well.

Each team will play group games across the next three days before the medal games on Saturday, coinciding with the Under-18 medal games.
