Following the conclusion of the last group stage games yesterday as well as #AusChamps Origin Day, the Quarter-Finals are upon us at the 2018 Under-16 Championships.
On Origin Day, Queensland got their revenge for the State of Origin results with a 3-1 record against New South Wales.
Qld South boys and Qld North girls defeated NSW Country in their respective encounters and Qld South girls got the better of NSW Metro in overtime after Ella Brow hit the game-tying shot in regulation before Lisa Barnett Keresoma drilled the eventual game-winner in extra time.
The NSW Metro boys got their revenge for the state against Qld North, cracking the century mark in a big win as Eoin Fitzgerald scored 27 points and Angus Ole added 24 off the bench.
Looking ahead to Day 6 and the Quarter-Final schedule for the girls, the undefeated Vic Metro side will face NSW Country at 4pm today.
Qld South finished with a 5-1 record and will now get set for a intrastate clash with Qld North at 2pm while NSW Metro (4-2) meets SA Metro (4-1) at 6pm in a massive clash of two impressive teams.
The final Quarter-Final will see Vic Country, who finished on top of Pool B, pitted against WA Metro at noon.
For the boys, both Vic Metro and Vic Country have advanced unbeaten into the Quarter-Finals and will prepare for meetings with Tas and Qld South at 2pm and 6pm respectively.
NSW Metro have lost just one game so far and they will battle the 3-2 WA Metro at noon while SA Country and SA Metro will fight for the last Semi-Final spot at 4pm in another intrastate clash.
