2018 AUSTRALIAN SCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIPS DAY 4 RECAP
At the end of four days of competition and with over 400 games played, all is in readiness for the last games tomorrow on the final day of the tournament.
Lake Ginninderra will take on Trinity in the men’s Championship Division gold medal game while Immanuel will go up against Rowville for the women’s Champ Division gold medal.
Both contests will be live-streamed to the Basketball Australia Facebook page from 1pm local time for the women and 3pm for the men.
Trailing by nine points at three-quarter time against Willetton, Lake Ginninderra rallied in a huge fourth quarter thanks to Hunter Clarke (12 points, three steals, two blocks) and Anyang Garang (22 points).
They combined for 14 points in the final term as Lake G prevailed 82-78 with Dhal Fieg’s 26 points also proving crucial in holding off Marshall Kearing’s 28 points.
Trinity were in control for most of the other Semi-Final, succeeding 71-64 courtesy of double-doubles from Apiok Dau (20 points, 18 rebounds), Jackson Walsh (14 points, 15 boards) and Magok Manyang (ten points, 13 rebounds).
The women’s Semi’s were not as close as Rowville extended their lead at every quarter to beat Willetton by 20 which means Willetton will fight for two Championship Division bronze medals tomorrow.
Immanuel had every player hit the scoreboard and three reach double-figures as they thrashed Hillcrest by 30 to show they truly mean business this year.
