Pearls Selection Camp at AIS

Identified at the beginning of 2019 at the Ivor Burge Championships, the squad of over 20 athletes have been training as a group and with individual programs for the past four months.

This coming weekend, the squad will be training at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra, with the final ten players to be selected into two teams of five.  Australia will have two teams competing against other Nations in a 3×3 competition where the Australian Pearls are current World Champions and Global Games Champions.

Since 2004, the Global Games have provided an opportunity to showcase the amazing ability of our athletes. With the aims of changing attitudes, challenging perspectives and strengthening communities locally and globally, Sports Inclusion Australia, the Brisbane City Council and our many partners and supporters are preparing to host the largest Global Games yet.

Basketball Australia will announce the selection of the final Australian Pearls Team later this month, but wish all squad members the very best for this selection weekend.

Four months out until the fifth INAS Global Games kicks off in Brisbane, Australia, the Australian Pearls are about to hold their final training camp for the squad of players who will vie for selection to represent Australia at the games.
