The Under-18 men and women have been split into two pools and each side will play the other teams in their pool once through the group stage, starting on Saturday, April 21.

Every state is represented across the Under-18 men and women and Vic Metro will be endeavouring to claim their fifth men’s Championship in six years.

Qld North will be out for revenge after they fell by just two points in a gold medal thriller last year while NSW Country will be hoping to repeat their efforts from 2015 when they broke Vic Metro’s streak.

For the women, Vic Metro’s run of success was ended last year when Vic Country bested their intrastate rivals and they will be aiming to defend their 2017 Championship in front of home fans.

The Under-18 Quarter-Finals begin on Thursday, April 26 and the women will then play off for gold at 5pm on Saturday, April 28 before the men hit the court for their last game at 7pm.

Five states will compete for the Kevin Coombs Cup this year, the only opportunity for junior wheelchair basketballers to represent their state in a National Championship.

The age groups for the Kevin Coombs Cup are based on international junior wheelchair basketball age groups; Under-23 for the men and Under-25 for the women and their tournament will begin on Wednesday, April 25.

They play through until Saturday, April 28 when the third and fourth placed teams face off for bronze at 9am while the second and first placed teams will meet for the gold medal at 3pm.

Queensland dominated at last year’s tournament, claiming the gold and silver medals and with one representative team in 2018, they look to be the side to beat again in 2018 as they come up against New South Wales, South Australia, Victoria and Western Australia.

All contests will be held at The Geelong Arena, a four-court stadium which boasts a main court with a seating capacity of 2,000.

Tickets are now available for the tournament here starting from $10 with children under the age of 10 admitted free while week-long passes are also available.
