Senior Boys- Rowville Secondary College 76 defeated Box Hill Senior 73 in Overtime

Rowville Secondary College outlasted Box Hill in an overtime thriller to claim the Senior Boys Championship. Rowville took a seven point advantage into the final break before Box Hill stormed home to level things up and force an extra period. A tough overtime period saw just the five baskets total, with Rowville having a three-point lead as the siren sounded. Luke Rosendale led the way with 23 points for the victors, with Tony Marchese chipping in with 16 points of his own. Harrison Bowater stepped up in clutch for Box Hill, with 12 points in the fourth quarter and overtime and Roosevelt Williams was big finished with 22 points.

Senior Girls- Box Hill 88 defeated Templestowe 67

Box Hill claimed the Senior Girls championship with a big win over Templestowe. Box Hill flew out of the gates with a 30 point opening quarter, and restricted their opponents to just 14. Box Hill then won the next two periods to claim a 21 point win. Templestowe struggled with fouls throughout the entire game, with three players fouling out and allowing 19 points off free throws. Kodie Myzska finished with 20 points for Box Hill, aided by Erin Riley (12 points) and Rhiannon Ockwell (15 points). Templestowe were led by Tayha Watkins’ 20 points.

Intermediate Boys- Marcellin 70 defeated Box Hill 56

Marcellin have knocked off the reigning champions in Box Hill to take home the Intermediate Boys  Champions Cup. Marcellin won every period in the game and steadily built a lead throughout the game, and finished with a 20 point final quarter to put a full stop on the game. They were led by Anthony Dell’Orso’s 20 points including five three-pointers and assisted by Kristian Ferronato (14 points) and Daniel Poelsma (10 points). Jordan Anderson had 20 points for Box Hill, and Ryan Fairchild added 16 as well.

Intermediate Girls- Rowville 55 defeated Haileybury 47

Rowville are the new Intermediate Girls champions after defeating Haileybury. Rowville came out of the blocks hard and did not look back. Rowville were led by a duo of recent Australian call-ups, with Nyadiew Puoch leading all scorers to the tune of 23 points, and Louisa Fakalata adding seven. Evie Curtis was also big for Rowville as she had 12 points. Haileybury were in foul trouble the and finished the game with two players fouled out. They were led by Charlise Dunn, who top scored for her side with 11 points.

Junior Boys- Marcellin 67 defeated Berwick College 59

Marcellin have claimed back-to-back Junior Boys titles after defeating Berwick College. Both sides traded the lead through the first three quarters and Berwick held a five point lead going into the final period. Marcellin stormed home with 23 points to end the game eight point victors. Samuel Tyrrell and Kristian Ferronato came up massive for Marcellin, and Ethan Bolden led Berwick from the front.

Junior Girls- Rowville 60 defeated Templestowe 38

Rowville have claimed back-to-back Junior Girls championships with a big win over Templestowe. In what was a repeat of last year’s final, scores were locked at the first break before Rowville dominated the middle section of the game. Jess Harvey and Dakota Critchon flew the flag for Rowville while Templestowe shared scoring duties evenly, with Tabitha Betson and Bridget Hudson top scoring with eight points each.
