Basketball Australia supports Australian Government COVIDSafe App

The app is designed to help reduce the spread of coronavirus through the early notification of possible exposure. This in turn assists the State and Territory health officials to quickly contact people who may have been exposed to the virus.

“The COVIDSafe app is a public health initiative and will be integral in aiding the nation to continue to successfully and efficiently flatten the curve of the virus on an ongoing basis.” Basketball CEO Jerril Rechter said.

“The Federal and State Governments have already been undertaking great work to keep Australians safe and this app allows Basketball Australia and everyone in the basketball community to also help in continuing that effort.”

Basketball Australia stands with the Australian Government and encourages our basketball community and beyond to download the COVIDSafe app to help move forward with our recovery and build a safer country.

“We all want to get back to playing basketball as soon as we can, safely and securely. We need to play our part in keeping ourselves, and others safe during these unprecedented times.” Basketball Australia Chair, Ned Coten said.

“The more precautions we implement into our communities now, the safer our nation will be moving forward. Which will hopefully allow a sooner return for community and elite basketball, and other sporting events around Australia.”

You can download the free COVIDSafe app for your iOS or Android device.
