Aussies Complete Double on Day Two of 3×3 World Cup

First up the Australians faced Andorra, as they wasted no time in flexing their muscle. Bec Cole was effortlessly shaking defenders on the perimeter and finding her way to the hoop. Meanwhile, the size and strength of Cole and Kunek saw them dominate defensively over Andorra, forcing their opponents into poor shots.

Andorra managed to challenge the Aussies early, seeing them trail 7-4 a few minutes in. However, from there the Australians went on a 15-3 run to close out the game, as Keely Froling hit a two with minutes to spare on the clock as the Australians prevailed 22-9.

The second game tipping off at 3:05am AEST, saw the Australian’s take on the Swiss on the back of a fifteen-game winning streak.

The game got out to a slow start for both teams, with the score line reading just 1-0 for the opening few minutes. Eventually, Australia got going through the hands of Maddie Garrick who hit a couple of twos to see the Aussies take a 7-1 lead three minutes into the game.

Both Garrick and Kunek continued to dominate throughout the contest, as the Australian’s eventually defeated Switzerland 20-14 as time expired.
