A couple of teams have made their moves at the Under-18’s and in Pool A for the men, three teams sit clear with 2-0 records.

Vic Metro, Tas and NSW Metro remain undefeated after two days of competition but that streak will not last much longer for one team with Vic Metro and Tas set to face off today at 1pm.

The Vics will have to shut down Reyne Smith if they are to prevail, with the Tassie gun averaging 22.5 points per game in his first two outings.

In Pool B for the men, QLD South backed up from their double victory on Day 1 with another win over SA Metro but they were made to fight by Keanu Rasmussen (26 points) before 23 points from Mojave King and 12 points, 12 rebounds from Blake Jones saw them succeed 77-70.

That defeat was SA Metro’s first for the tournament and they now are locked in a fierce battle with the likes of Vic Country (2-0) and NSW Country (1-1) for a top-two spot.

For the women, QLD North and Vic Metro are setting the pace in Pool A with 2-0 records but we may have a clear favourite for the Championship after today with the two teams set to face off at 5pm.

SA Country and ACT will be looking to pounce as well with games against NSW Metro and WA Metro respectively on Day 3.

There is a similar situation unfolding in Pool B for the women as Tas and WA Country search for a win while Vic Country and SA Metro are unbeaten at 2-0.

Don’t forget the Kevin Coombs Cup tips off tomorrow as the Under-18’s near their finals.
