2018 UNDER-14 CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP DRAWS RELEASED

Find the draw for the Under-14 Boys here and the Under-14 Girls here.

This year, the Under-14 Girls Championships will be held in Shepparton while the Under-14 Boys will be hosted by Kilsyth with 24 teams going head-to-head in each tournament.

Pool games run through the first two days of competition before teams are split into Shield and Championship Divisions.

The Under-14 Boys gold medal game will then be played at 6.00pm on Saturday, October 6 before the Under-14 Girls gold medal game tips off at 7.30pm with both games to be live-streamed via the Basketball Australia Facebook page.

Prior to their competition getting underway, the Under-14 Girls will be treated to a pre-season WNBL game on Sunday 30th September at 2pm between the Bendigo Spirit and Dandenong Rangers before the 2018/19 season officially begins on October 12.

The Melbourne Tigers (Vic) will enter the Under-14 Girls Championships as favourites after winning the National Junior Classic in June.

However, fellow Victorian teams including the Dandenong Rangers, who have taken home the Michele Timms Trophy on five occasions, and Knox Raiders who won the tournament in 2016 will be looking to knock them off in front of a home crowd.

Eltham Wildcats (Vic) will be aiming to defend their title from last year at the Under-14 Boys Championships and look to be on track after defeating Nunawading Spectres (Vic) to win the National Junior Classic.

The Spectres will be keen for redemption though, returning to the Boys Championships for the first time since 2014 when they won the silver medal.

Hills Hornets (NSW) are also a team to watch, having received a last-minute ticket to the championships while finishing fourth at the Junior Classic and third in the NSW State Championship.

Willetton Tigers (WA) won the Shield Division last year and Darwin Cyclones (NT) claimed the bronze medal which will give them confidence they can make some noise in the Championship Division this year.

Stay tuned for the announcement of team lists for both competitions while tickets can be purchased for the Under-14 Boys here and Girls Club Championships here.

With less than a month until the start of the 2018 Under-14 Club Championships, run from October 1-6, the draws for both tournaments have been released.
